the idea that Josh Elliot can go around and criticize Merill Hodge for his praise of the Patriots for going for it on 4th down. Then proceeding to act as if that decision could compete amongst the worst decisions in the history of football.

"If you want to call it a drive...it's more like a 'we'll take the car around the corner and bring it right back.'"

Justin Tuck beat Flozell Adams like a drum. Well the drum takes revenge.

Josh Elliott, referring to Justin Tuck being tripped in the Cowboys / Giants game.

How does a drum take revenge? Fail.

It should be noted that in the 45 minutes or so that I watched, Merrill Hodge was on and prevented Josh from spouting off something stupid. So, Hodge, I salute you.

Note: Hannah Storm and Josh Elliott call Merrill Hodge, "Hodgey," which is strikingly similar to "haji" which coincidentally means someone who has made the trip to Mecca, but is also American Serviceman slang for a person of Arabic descent.

This morning, Sportscenter did a side-by-side on the statistics Matt Sanchez and Tom Brady accumulated in their first games of the NFL season.

Josh Elliott analogized Sanchez's performance to Magic Johnson as a rookie running around with Kareem Abdul Jabar.

Huh?

The Premise; The Rules

The Premise:
This blog is dedicated to the idea that Josh Elliott, host of Sportscenter Live on ESPN, needs to go away. Why? Because he generally ruins my Sportscenter experience.

I remember looking forward to watching Sportscenter every morning. I would hear whitty commentary by the Sportscenter guys, top plays would be awesome - it was a good start to each and every weekday (barring a loss by my favorite sports team).

Then along came Josh Elliott (and to some extent, Hannah Storm). Suddenly, some little jackass was interjecting his opinion and polluting Sportscenter as we knew it. And basically, he's driven the show to the point where it is, gasp, almost unwatchable (maybe I should emphasize almost as well, because I still watch it). Rather than reporting sports news and adding some kind of whitty remarks, he injects his opinion. And usually, it is downright dumb. Thoughtless, underdeveloped, inaccurate or inarticulate.

Today, September 18, 2009, was my breaking point. He made a stupid comment this morning and I thought to myself, "there needs to be a blog documenting how awful Josh Elliott is." Why? Because he says enough crap Monday through Friday that is so stupid that: (1) the list will quickly grow; (2) the world will see how annoying Josh Elliott is; and (3) maybe (crossess fingers) ESPN will get rid of Josh Elliott (highly doubtful).

The Rules:
Look, I can't (and won't) go back and look for stupid stuff he's said up until this point. Instead, I can merely begin to document it from this day forward.

I only watch 30-45 minutes of Sportscenter a morning, but it's enough to usually catch at least one stupid Josh Elliott remark. But, I'm setting up comments so you can submit your own "Josh Elliott is an idiot and here's why" observations.

So, from this day forth, Josh Elliott's stupid comments will be documented.
